The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2027 is a national-level MBA entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBA, PGDM, and other AICTE-approved management programmes across India. CMAT scores are accepted by more than 1,000 AICTE-approved management institutes, making it one of the most popular MBA entrance examinations after CAT.
As of 5 August 2026, the official CMAT 2027 notification has not been released by the National Testing Agency. Based on previous years' admission schedules, the CMAT 2027 registration process is expected to begin in October 2026, while the exam is likely to be conducted in January 2027 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official NTA CMAT website for the latest announcements.
CMAT 2027 Highlights
CMAT is conducted once every year to assess candidates' aptitude for management education. The examination evaluates applicants in language comprehension, quantitative techniques & data interpretation, logical reasoning, general awareness, and innovation & entrepreneurship. A good CMAT score can help candidates secure admission to leading AICTE-approved MBA colleges across India.
CMAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Students appearing in the final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree before the admission process begins. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the CMAT examination.
CMAT 2027 Exam Pattern
The CMAT 2027 examination is expected to follow the previous year's pattern. The exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and is expected to contain 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) divided equally across five sections:
- Language Comprehension
- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- General Awareness
- Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Each correct answer carries 4 marks, while 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect response. The total duration of the examination is expected to be 180 minutes (3 hours) with a maximum score of 400 marks.
CMAT 2027 Syllabus
The CMAT syllabus covers all the essential topics required for management entrance examinations. The Language Comprehension section includes Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Para Jumbles, and Verbal Ability. Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation covers Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Number System, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, and Data Interpretation. Logical Reasoning includes Seating Arrangement, Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding, Syllogism, Critical Reasoning, and Analytical Puzzles. The General Awareness section focuses on Current Affairs, Business News, Economy, History, Geography, and Static GK, while Innovation & Entrepreneurship evaluates candidates' understanding of startups, business models, government initiatives, and entrepreneurial concepts.
CMAT 2027 Admit Card & Result
The CMAT 2027 Admit Card is expected to be released 3–7 days before the examination, while the CMAT 2027 Result is likely to be declared within three to four weeks after the exam. Candidates will be able to download both documents from the official NTA CMAT website using their application number and password.
CMAT 2027 Expected Cutoff
The CMAT cutoff varies depending on the participating institute and category. Top MBA colleges generally shortlist candidates with 90–99+ percentile, while many reputed AICTE-approved management institutes accept candidates scoring 70–90 percentile. The final admission process may also include Group Discussion (GD), Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI), depending on the institute's admission policy.
