Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Divyangjan (AITD), Kanpur, formerly known as Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Handicapped (AITH), is a premier Government engineering institute established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1997. The institute was created to provide quality technical education in an inclusive environment where Divyang (Persons with Disabilities) and general category students study together.

AITD is one of India's unique technical institutions with a completely barrier-free campus specially designed for students with disabilities. The institute offers undergraduate B.Tech programmes for all eligible students, while diploma programmes are primarily meant for Divyang students. It focuses on innovation, research, entrepreneurship and industry-oriented education.

The campus includes modern laboratories, smart classrooms, hostels, a central library, sports facilities, innovation and incubation centres and the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Research Centre (ABVRC) for advanced research. The Training & Placement Cell actively supports students through internships, industrial visits, skill development and campus recruitment.
