Dr. Homi Bhabha State University (HBSU) is Maharashtra's first Government Cluster University, established in 2019 by the Government of Maharashtra under the RUSA initiative. The university integrates some of Mumbai's oldest and most prestigious educational institutions into a single multidisciplinary university.

The university has renowned constituent institutions including Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE), Sydenham College, Elphinstone College, Institute of Science, Institute of Forensic Science, and Secondary Training College. These heritage institutions collectively offer undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and professional programmes across science, commerce, management, humanities, education and interdisciplinary studies.

HBSU follows the NEP 2020 framework with multidisciplinary learning, Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), internships, research opportunities, industry partnerships and skill development. The university also emphasizes innovation, entrepreneurship and technology-enabled learning to prepare students for emerging career opportunities

Undergraduate Programmes

• 10+2 from a recognized board.

Postgraduate Programmes

• Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline.

MBA / MMS

• Graduation with entrance examination as prescribed by the constituent institute (such as MAH MBA CET/CAT/CMAT for applicable programmes).

Ph.D.

•  Master's degree in the relevant discipline as per university regulations.

Placement

Dr. Homi Bhabha State University provides internship opportunities, industry collaborations and placement support through its constituent colleges. Institutes such as SIMSREE have their own placement cells and publish separate placement reports. However, HBSU has not officially released a consolidated university-wide placement report containing verified highest package, average package or placement percentage.
